About EkP
1. EkP’s Mission:
EkP was founded in 2000 by a group of young academics and businessmen to develop qualified information to support the determination of economy policies in Turkey through young qualified human resources.
2. EkP’s Vision:
We believe that our vision of a developed economy can be achieved through strong international relations, the existence of a functioning free market economy and qualified human resources.
3. EkP’s Priorities:
3.1. International Cooperation for Economic Reform and Development
Ekonomistler Platformu believes that Turkey as an emerging economy needs further policy improvements for a functioning market economy. In this scope, Ekonomistler Platformu will focus on the transformation and transition process and experience in European Union member countries and Black Sea region collaboration.
Ekonomistler Platformu, will have research activities, conferences, workshops and networking activities with think-tanks in those countries in international level.
3.2. Regional Development
Ekonomistler Platformu identifies regional development as one of the most important issues and regional economic disparities as one of the most important problems in Turkish economy. In this scope Ekonomistler Platformu was and will be working about Regional Development Policies. Regional Development Agencies as the new and main tool for regional development policies in Turkey will be the focus of activities.
Ekonomistler Platformu believes that private sector will be crucial for regional development and the business community organizations as the main body for defending the interests of private sector, Ekonomistler Platformu will be going on the capacity building activities of business society institutions to increase the contribution of those organizations for regional development with their functions.
3.3. Supporting Development of Economists
Qualified human resources are the most important component that affects the country’s developing process. With this respect, Ekonomistler Platformu will organize events, training programs, national and international internship programs and competitions both for its members and non-members.
